Harvard retira los lácteos (leche) de la dieta saludable

Seguro que escuchaste en las noticias que Harvard retira los lácteos, principalmente la leche,  de la dieta saludable, llamada Healthy Eating Plate.

El motivo por el que lo hacen es porque los expertos en nutrición e investigadores de Harvard recomiendan elimina la leche y lácteos de la dieta debido a que “un alto consumo aumenta significativamente los riesgos de padecer cáncer de próstata y cáncer de ovario”, recomendación que también hacen otros organismos como el Departamento de Agricultura de Estados Unidos.

Así mismo también mencionan que los altos niveles de grasas saturadas en la mayoría de los productos lácteos y los componentes químicos de su producción los hace un alimento a evitar. Para suplir las carencias de calcio a la hora de dejar de consumir leche nos recomiendan aumentar el consumo de hortalizas como por ejemplo, el repollo, la coliflor, el brócoli, etc.

Estas son las recomendaciones que nos hace Harvard para llevar una dieta saludable:

La mayor parte de nuestras comidas deben ser vegetales y frutas (medio plato).Recuerda que las patatas no son verduras en la guía de alimentación saludable debido a su impacto negativo sobre el azúcar en la sangre.

Una cuarta plato de nuestro plato de comida debe estar formada por cereales integrales. La otra cuarta parte del plato debe estar formada por proteínas y grasas saludables. Es recomendable consumir alimentos como el pescado, el pollo las nueces. Limitar la carne roja, y evitar las carnes procesadas como el tocino y salchichas.

Consumir aceites saludables como el de oliva, canola, soja, maíz, o girasol, y evitar los aceites parcialmente hidrogenados, que contienen grasas trans no saludables. Beba agua, café, o té. Saltarse las bebidas azucaradas, y limitar la leche y los productos lácteos límite a una o dos porciones por día. Manténgase activo.

El tipo de carbohidratos en la dieta es más importante que la cantidad de carbohidratos en la dieta, ya que algunas fuentes de verduras en hidratos de carbono son más saludables que otros. La alimentación saludable también aconseja a los consumidores evitar las bebidas azucaradas ya que son una fuente importante de calorías.
